Ooh La La
Nestled on the eastern edge of Highland Park's bustling Central Avenue among other trendy boutiques is Ooh-La-La, a small shop that's big on style and service. Located in the historic Highland Park Movie Theatre Building, in a space previously dedicated to a millinery shop during the 30's and 40's, proprietor and designer Lisa Farrell interprets the art of millinery with a modern eye.
This tres chic boutique feels like a Parisian millinery salon complete with draped velvet curtains, an elegant chaise lounge and an ornate vintage mirror. By far the most dramatic element of the salon is the wall lined with old hat blocks - a true mark of craftsmanship seldom seen in department stores.
Beautifully handcrafted women's hats are displayed in small vignettes throughout the intimate salon. These one-of-a-kind couture creations are wonderfully detailed with frothy feathers, sumptuous fabrics, vintage beading or some other well-crafted trim. Choose a hat straight off the peg designed by owner Lisa Farrell, designer Laura Hubka or from one of the other featured milliners. And finding a hat that fits properly is never a problem. Unlike a department store, Ooh-La-La can adjust any hat for size to insure a comfortable fit for even smaller and larger head measurements.
For a truly one-of-a-kind experience indulge yourself with a custom-made couture creation. Whether it's for a special occasion or simply a special treat, Ooh-La-La can design a unique look just for you. Custom work can take four to six weeks but it's absolutely worth the wait.
Ooh-La-La also offers several Ready to Wear collections. Less formal than the Off the Peg pieces, these hats are big on style while still being practical. And as with any hat from Ooh-La-La, these pieces can also be adjusted to insure a comfortable fit.

Laura Hubka's warm and whimsical Hubcaps for Your Head fleece hats and scarves for boys and girls of all ages feature pom-poms, fringe and other kinds of trims in all sorts of colorful stripes, polka dots, and prints.
